Cecilia Velasquez

Forever in our Hearts

Cecilia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Harmony House in Yakima. She was born in Agassiz, British Columbia. She was educated at St. Mary’s Boarding School and continued her education at YVCC.

Cecilia was a hairdresser for many years. She also worked for the Yakima Sheriff’s Office. She then worked for Yakima County Department of Corrections. She also trained in karate.

Cecilia Harry married Antonio Velasquez in June 26, 1963.

Cecilia leaves behind daughters Nancy (Scott) Groza, Sonya Brooks, Michelle Velasquez, Tera Hilton, Roberta (Russ) Wittorf, and a son Dan Hernandez; as well as step-children Jeannie (John) Castillo, Tina (Greg) Valenzuela, Helen (Leonard) Hughes, Tony (Ethel) Velasquez, Richard (Sandy) Velasquez, and Mary Alice Hague. Cecilia also leaves behind numerous great and grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Antonio.

Cecilia enjoyed family gatherings, her dogs, word searches, crocheting, movies, the great outdoors, and music. She has a listening ear and a helping hand and a big smile for everyone. We will miss you very much and forever keep you in our hearts.

Services will be held at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, Today, Friday, August 14, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will also be scheduled for a later date.
