A Time to Build
At an early age Chris knew the meaning of hard work. He worked throughout the neighborhood in Los Angeles cutting lawns and performing other odd jobs that would bring him extra allowance. As an adult, Chris was employed as a Chef, Lab Technician and a Commercial Fisherman. Chris was a true sportsman in every sense of the word. He played various sports and excelled with true valor winning numerous awards, commendations and certificates for his outstanding ability to master the game. He looked forward to “March Madness” every year. Chris had a zest for life and lived life to the fullest. Chris loved his family, especially his grandchildren, sisters and his brother “Red”. Chris was a people person and everyone who met him loved being in his presence.
A Time to Plant
Chris attended Catholic School throughout his life. He graduated from Daniel Murphy High School in 1977. In his spare time, Chris volunteered for the City of Seattle Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program. He was recognized for his commitment to children and their families. For several consecutive years, Chris received the “Volunteer of the Year” award for his Community Service. Chris was a devout Catholic and attended Holy Family Church in Yakima, Washington. Whenever he traveled between Yakima and Seattle, Chris always found the nearest Catholic Church for Sunday Mass.
Celebrating His Life and Legacy
His soul mate, the love of his life and best friend, Carrol Ann; his son, Christopher W. Perry, and grandchildren, Clara and Carmine; sister, Pamela (Kenneth R. Sr.) Finley; brother, Lionel M. Perry; sister, Mildred (Van Roy) Texas; sister, Patricia (Glen) Sanders; a special sister-in-law, Nancy L. Quarels and a host of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and dear friends.
