Surrounded by loved ones, Clara Lorene Fisk went to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 28, in Tieton at age 61.
Survived by her husband John, her parents Hubert and Clara McKinney, her sister Patsy Swaim (Richard), her daughter Michelle Swanson (Tim), and her grandchildren Alexis, Timothy, and Samantha.
Preceded by her brother, Dale McKinney, a day before.
Born August 1, 1951 in St. Joe, Arkansas, she moved to Tieton at five. She graduated from Highland High School in 1970.
She “tied the knot” with the love of her life on June 6, 1969 in Yakima. She was crazy about John from the beginning and would threaten to kiss him in front of other people everywhere they went. She often made good on that threat.
In 1971, Lorene gave birth to Michelle and gave her heart to the Lord shortly after.
For many years, Lorene served at Highland Tabernacle in Tieton. For the last several, she served at Cowiche Community Church. She loved to worship the Lord with singing, especially when led by John or Michelle.
Lorene was a tremendous woman of faith until the very end. In her passing, she overcame cancer for the fifth time. She continued to worship, never lost heart, always had a smile to give, and always found that “peace that passes all understanding”, as the bible promises.
She will be missed.
Viewing will be held at the Keith & Keith Funeral Home on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Keith and Keith Funeral Home on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
