Daniel L. Snyder, (8/21/29 – 10/8/11), passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife, Linda, surrounded by family. He was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota and came to Yakima with his family at age 7. He attended St. Paul’s grade school and graduated from Marquette High School in 1949. He served in the Korean War. Dan drove for Snyder’s Bakery for 10 years before purchasing and managing his own apartments for the rest of his working career.
Dan loved the outdoors and was an avid hiker, biker, golfer and adventurer. He loved his RV travels with his wife, driving as far south as Belize and as far north as Alaska.
Primary in Dan’s life was his faith in God and his love for family. Dan brought communion to those unable to attend mass. This was one of his greatest joys. He was a member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church. He also frequented Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Selah for daily mass and fellowship in the mornings. Dan was a man of great faith, who knew his faults and easily forgave those of others.
Dan is survived by his wife, Linda; brothers, Damian (Joan), Howard (friend, Sharon), and Harold (Bernice); and sister, Mary (Jerry) all of Yakima; youngest brother, Ron (Sherlyn) of Selah; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Karen Harrison and Davita staff, especially nurses Mary Emter and Leslie Merritt for making Dan’s at –home dialysis experience over the past few years so positive and life-enhancing. Memorial donations can be made to St Joseph Catholic Church or KidneyTrust.org.
