1954- 2026
It is with great sadness that I announce the unexpected passing of my husband Dan L. Wood on June 27, 2026. Dan had struggled with COPD.
Danny was born on April 4, 1954, in Longview, WA to Emma J (Maxey) and Jodie Wood. He joined 3 older siblings, Bill, Sandy and Fred.
Shortly after his birth the family moved to Sunnyside, WA, where extended family lived, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He often talked all about fun times in Sunnyside with cousins and friends.
All of Dan’s education was in the Sunnyside School district. He had various different jobs in his younger years from roadwork to forestry work. His main occupation later in life was carpentry. He was proud to be a journeyman Union Carpenter. He had a special talent for building houses to remodels and building furniture.
In 2003, Dan met the love of his life Debbi on a date set up by his friends. We married December 16, 2005. Together we had a wonderful 23 years. After retirement we bought a Polaris Razor side-by-side, something Dan thoroughly enjoyed riding up in the mountains.
Dan had 2 daughters from previous marriages. April (deceased) whom he had 5 grandkids, Damon-28, Alexis-26, Donald-23, Devan-19 and Allyssa-15. Also, daughter McKayla (Daniel) Avalos, granddaughters Lilie-6, Charlie-2. Thank you McKayla for your support and help with your dad. He was very proud of you and always looked forward to visits with your family.
Dan was preceded in death by his parent’s, daughter April and his siblings.
Survived by his wife Debbi, daughter McKayla, son-in-law Daniel and all grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews that he truly loved.
Per Dan’s wishes, there will not be formal services. His wish was to be scattered in the mountains.
Gone from my world but not from my heart. Bless you and may you rest in peace.
I love you, Dan!
