

David W. Herring went to go fishing at the great river in the sky on December 1st, 2014. He was born in Yakima, Washington to Willard and Genevieve Herring on January 25th, 1952. He attended Naches Schools and was part of the graduating class of 1970. David married his high school sweetheart and they settled in Selah to raise their two kids.
David spent a short time in the military after high school where he was a drill sergeant. He worked at Shields bag and printing for 22 years. He finished his life working as a trucker and loved crisscrossing the country, he was our road warrior.
David loved coaching both of his kid’s soccer, basketball, and baseball teams. He was highly successful and thrived as a molder of young men. Lately he enjoyed showing his grandkids how to throw his signature knuckle curve. He was also an avid fisherman who loved being by the water.
He will be missed by many, but mostly by his family. His wife of 43 years Cindy; His eldest son Chad and his wife Jessica; His youngest son Sean and his wife Ari; Grandchildren, Alexa, Tristan, Rowan, and one great grandchild, Lucian. He is also survived by his two brothers, Gary Herring and Ed (Carol) Herring; sister-in-law, Sandra (Ken) Markley; brother-in-law, Brad (Peggy) Tangeman; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Melissa, Lonnie, Thomas, Jimmy, Laura, Kris, Kari, and Jodi.
A viewing will be held at Keith and Keith Funeral Home this Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from Noon to 5:00 p.m.
A Celebration of David’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7th at the Rainier Memorial Center (2807 Terrace Heights Drive).
