

Dave’s life encapsulated one theme, service to others. His contribution has left its mark in this world that will impact many generations to come. He raised a loving family and cultivated countless friendships.
Dave married Patricia Hagen on September 8, 1953. Dave entered the U.S. Navy in March of 1953 and was assigned to Navy firefighting duty. He was stationed at the Boeing Fire Department and then again as a civilian firefighter at the Sand Point Naval Air Station. He earned a degree from Oklahoma State University where he majored in Trade and Industrial Education with a minor in Fire Protection Technology. He then worked at the Washington Surveying and Rating Bureau. Dave retired as Fire Chief of Bellevue, Washington in 1974. After retirement Dave moved to Victor, MT, and joined the Ravalli County Sheriff’s office as a detective. Dave went on to establish a highly successful investigation and security business, Omni-sentinel. Dave moved to Yakima in 1989 and was employed part-time as a senior analyst for Fire Solutions, Inc.
He is survived by his wife Patricia McAllister, a son, Michael McAllister, and a daughter, Julie Swedin. He is also survived by his grand children, Brianna McAllister, Anna and Eric Swedin; a brother, Kenneth McAllister, a nephew, Robert McAllister and his daughter, Jamie, a nephew William McAllister, and a niece, Tammy Mooney. Dave was preceded in death by a brother, Wilfred McAllister, his mother, Viola Jones, and father, Virgil McAllister. Dave is survived by friends too numerous list.
A Celebration of Life for retired Fire Chief Dave McAllister will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 3225-148th Avenue S.E. Bellevue, Washington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dave’s name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation c/o Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home, 1010 W. Yakima Ave., Yakima, WA 98902.
