Dean was a man defined by his strength, his dedication, and his deep love for his family. He proudly served in the United States Navy USS KNOX FF 1052 for almost 4 years from 1972 to 1976 he left with an honorable discharge as an MM3. A time in his life that reflected his commitment, resilience, and sense of duty. Those qualities stayed with him long after his service and shaped the man so many came to know and love.
After his time in the Navy, Dean spent many years working as a tow truck driver, mechanic, and in window delivery. He was never afraid of hard work and was known for showing up—no matter what—for the people who depended on him. Whether he was fixing an engine, helping someone on the side of the road, or putting in long hours, he took pride in doing things right and being someone others could count on. He built a life on reliability, grit, and quiet determination, always putting others before himself.
Outside of work, Dean found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. He loved camping and being outdoors, where he could slow down and take in the world around him. He had an eye for photography, capturing moments that might have otherwise gone unnoticed. He also loved working on cars, something that wasn’t just a skill but a passion, something he could lose himself in and take pride in. And above all, he cherished his beloved dachshunds—his “wiener dogs”—who brought him comfort, companionship, and unconditional love. They were never just pets to him; they were family.
Dean will be remembered as strong, brave, funny, and deeply supportive. He had a way of making people laugh, even in hard moments, and a way of standing beside those he loved no matter what. His strength wasn’t just in what he endured, but in how he showed up for others—with loyalty, patience, and a steady presence that people could lean on. He didn’t always need many words to show he cared—his actions said everything.
But above all else, Dean’s greatest pride and purpose in life was being a father. It was the role he held closest to his heart and the one he poured himself into completely. His love wasn’t loud or showy, but it was constant, dependable, and deeply felt. It showed in the sacrifices he made, the lessons he taught, and the way he stood by his family through every season of life. To his children, he was not just a father, but a protector, a provider, and a steady source of love.
Dean is survived by his children: stepson Michel Lease, stepson Bradley Lease, and daughter Katie Brown, who will carry his love and memory with them always. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanette Brown (Fetters), as well as his mother, Alice Holland, and his father, Arthur Brown.
The loss of Dean leaves a space that cannot be filled. His presence, his voice, his humor, and his steady way of being will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. But the love he gave, the values he lived by, and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of his family forever.
Dean’s life was one of quiet strengths, deep love, and unwavering dedication. Though he may no longer be here in person, his spirit remains—in the lessons he passed on, in the laughter he shared, and in the love that will never fade.
He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
