A man of incredible humor, deep patriotism, and an unyielding passion for life, passed away peacefully on May 18th, 2026 at the age of 83.
Born on July 11, 1942 to Russell and Thelma Tilton, Dean lived a full life fueled by high speed and deep love.
He was a pillar in his community, but no where was he more at home than at Yakima Speedway. Over the years he wore many hats at the track including the drivers helmet. Living out a lifelong passion for racing and the roar of a good Chevy engine.
A die hard Nascar fan, his Sundays were spent cheering on his favorite drivers surrounded by family and friends he loved so deeply.
Dean was a proud American, he loved the red white and blue of Old Glory, and the American Eagle and what it represented.
He had a soft spot for animals, sharing his home with many cherished dogs and cats over the years.
To know Dean was to laugh. He possessed a sharp sense of humor that could light any room. Always planning a Bbq or family dinner to cut up and laugh with friends and family was one of his favorite things to do.
More than anything he was a man of great devotion. He never left any one guessing where they stood. If he loved you. You absolutely knew it.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Robin, his partner in so many life adventures.
He was a proud father to his two children, Carrie Faye Tilton~King and William (Bill) Tilton.
And a legendary grandpa to 5 Grandchildren and many Great Grands. All of whom will carry forward his stories, sense of humor and unique nicknames lovingly given to each one.
He was a devoted brother to his sister Karen Gohl, and wonderful uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind a wide circle of close friends, who will miss his presence trackside, at car shows, and at home.
A celebration of Deans life will be held at Wiley Union Church, on Wednesday, May 27th, at 3pm.
“I have fought the good fight. And have finished the race. I have kept the faith”
