Delores Salmon Hague passed away June 25, 2022 at Highgate Senior Living with her husband, Robert, at her side. She was born October 22, 1928, in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada the only daughter of J. Ross and Eva Dahl Salmon. With her two brothers, Jay and Don, she grew up in Picture Butte, Alberta, and after graduation from high school attended the University of Calgary where she obtained a teaching certificate and began her teaching career in a one-room school in Gadsby, Alberta, later transferring to Coaldale, and then Picture Butte. She married Robert Hague (Bob) on March 20, 1952 in the Cardston, Alberta Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As newlyweds they moved to Seattle to pursue their education and career. Subsequently they lived in Spokane, Republic, Connell, and finally Yakima, where they have lived for the past fifty years. Her family was her career and she devoted her life to raising their seven children. Delores was a faithful lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, giving many hours of service in the Women's Relief Society, Young Women's program, Children's Primary organization, and serving many years as a Cub Scout den leader.
She is preceded in death by an infant son, her older brother (Jay Salmon), three sisters-in-law (Doris Salmon, Joyce Salmon, and Necia Oliver), one brother-in-law (Dwayne Oliver) two grandchildren (Bay Smart and Danen Hague) and two great-grandchildren (Keith Burnett & Brooks Dalby). She is survived by her husband of seventy years, Robert A. Hague (Bob), her younger brother Don Salmon, Edmonton, Alberta, and her seven children: Kevin (Bonnie) Hague, Kennewick, WA; Cheryl (Mark) Dalby, Lehi, UT; Sheila (Darrell) Smart, Yakima, WA; Daryl (Annie) Hague, Orem, UT; Roger (Nancy) Hague, Gilbert, AZ; Tami (Saul) Meneses, San Tan Valley, AZ; Bryan (Kenady) Hague, Yakima, WA, twenty-eight grandchildren, and fifty-two great-grandchildren with two more arriving soon.
The family would like to acknowledge those who have cared for and befriended Delores while she lived at Highgate Senior Living, their tenderness and loving concern for our wife and mother is much appreciated.
A visitation for Delores will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 West Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902. A funeral service will occur Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at LDS Church, 4307 Englewood Ave., Yakima, WA 98908.
