Delores Lorrain McLoud, a longtime resident of Yakima, WA passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016. Delores was surrounded by her loved ones until she took her last breath! She was born in Leavenworth, WA to Joseph and Dorothy Dorey on March 13, 1941. Her family moved to Wenatchee, WA shortly after and then onto Yakima, WA when she was a young girl. Delores married Roger McLoud in 1970, and raised 5 children between them. Delores’s husband worked for a local Petrolane Gas Company here in the Yakima Valley, which required the family to be transferred a lot to different locations in Washington State and the United States, including the following: Forks and Othello, WA, and Juneau, AK.
Delores spent most of her years working in the fruit industry, but she also worked in the janitorial field and at a potato plant in Othello, WA.
The highlight of Delores’s life was her children and great-grandchildren. To say she spoiled them all would be an understatement, for her doors were always open to those who needed a place to stay or to take-in a hot meal; no one ever left her home hungry! Delores especially loved her most loyal companion, Kira, a Rottweiler that her son had bought for her about a year ago after her other dog had passed away. She always loved her dogs as they were always a constant companion, and loyal ones at that! Delores’s indomitable spirit and determination encouraged her family to reach for the stars. She bestowed onto them to face the many struggles of life and to never give up or surrender.
I don’t wish for you to cry for me, or to feel sad, for my pain is now gone and I’m free to wonder through heaven as an angel. I will see you again, but until then God will be with you – “Just as he is with me now.”
Delores McLoud is survived by her two sons, Dennis Lompa (Carrie Mack) and Joey McLoud; daughter, Darla Hartgrove; two step-daughters, Robin Denlinger and Becky McLoud; grandchildren, Shane Hull, Christopher Morford, Nicholas Lompa, Calen McLoud, and Jordan McLoud; great-grandchildren, Iris Hull, Brendan Hull, Quinn Lompa, Natalie Hull, Corbin Morford, and Joseph Morford. Also, she is survived by an aunt named Charlotte Tolle (Ted); along with numerous nieces and nephews, and so many other loved ones.
Delores is preceded in death by her husband Roger McLoud, parents Joseph and Dorothy Dorey, brothers Richard (Dick) and Robert (Bob) Dorey, sister Ardith Cowles and a great-grandson, Daniel Hull.
