Don’s employment over the years included working at Yakima Specialties, a sawmill and assisting his uncle with his tree trimming business. He was a member of the Yakima Elks Lodge and the Full Gospel Holiness Church.
Don enjoyed going to the beach, and on long walks up to ten miles a trek, watching his 3,000 collection of movies especially John Wayne Westerns, wearing his western attire and being with his family and church. Don’s church family and relatives will miss all the unique nicknames he assigned to everyone and the ladies of the church will miss him making them feel special with his sweet candy gifts given on Sundays.
He is survived by his children Taracelia Orozco and Juanito DeJesus; numerous grandchildren; his road dog, Deer; brother Vern Bales and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Don was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Irene, sister Alice Everts and five brothers Harold, Marvin, Leroy, Roy and Marian Bales.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30th from 4pm to 8pm at Keith & Keith Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 11am, Friday, March 31st at Terrace Memorial Park.
A Memorial service and reception will be held from 2pm to 5pm, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Fruitvale Grange.
