

He was a lifelong Washingtonian except for 20 years he lived in Arizona. Mr. Cyr was born November 23, 1930 to Edith and Leo Cyr; he was the third of four brothers, all of whom have predeceased him.
Don was a Marquette High School graduate, after school he entered the Coast Guard for a 3 year stint during the Korean War. In 1952 he married Marylynn Ditter, they lived in Seattle where they started their family and Don attended Seattle University for a year.
In 1958 he and his family returned to Yakima. He was employed in the food and wine industry working for many years for a Spokane brokerage firm. He also was employed by Schultz Furniture for a time. Ever the sportsman, Don loved hunting, fishing and golf, as well as team sports.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Suzanne Fluegge and grandson Brian Fluegge.
Survivors include his wife Marylynn Cyr, daughters Theresa (John) Blake, Mary (Karl) Wyatt and Annette Cyr, son Thomas (Diana) Cyr, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A vigil service will be conducted on Thursday December 19, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. in the Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday December 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Cathedral. He will be inurned at Calvary Cemetery.
