Born in Walla Walla, Washington, Donna went on to make her home and build her life in Yakima, Washington.
A woman of strong drive and independence, she worked for many years as a truck broker before founding her own company, Galaxy Transportation Services, in 1990. She successfully ran the business for nearly three decades until her retirement in 2018.
Beyond her professional achievements, Donna found her greatest joy in the simple, beautiful rhythms of life. She loved cooking, taking care of those around her, and living out in the country, where she was happiest surrounded by her beloved horses and dogs.
Donna was preceded in death by her son, Robbie Hintze; her husband, Raymond Vetsch; her father and stepmother, Donald and Leslie Thompson; and her mother, Irene Covert.
She leaves behind a rich legacy of love and is survived by her devoted daughter, Kalisa Hintze Amparo; son-in-law, Tom Amparo; her cherished grandchildren, Carrena and Thomas Amparo; and her stepson, Todd Vetsch. She is also survived by her sisters, Sally Ponath, Linda Crockett, Betsy Rider, and Donna Jean Thomas, and her brother, David Rogers.
Donna had a unique gift for making the ordinary feel extra special. In her honor, her family invites you to take something regular in your day and give it a little extra flair.
