

Doris Jean (Ford) Keagle, 77, passed away December 24, 2010 at Chandler House in Yakima, Washington. Doris was born January 30, 1933 in Winfred, South Dakota. She attended Two Dot Elementary School, a one room classroom. She grew up in many places with her parents Elmer & Avilla Ford as they looked for work. During her first marriage she was blessed with four children. Doris met the love of her life Francis "Bud" Keagle. Bud had two children of his own from a previous marriage. Doris and Bud were married May 13, 1961 at the Hitching Post in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and had a seventh child together.
She worked for the Yakima School District as a head cook for 26 years, retiring in 1997. Doris enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, fishing, camping and spending time with her family. Doris and Bud went camping at Bumping Lake every summer for many years before they retired, where they met several long lasting friends. After retiring Doris and Bud traveled to South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Arizona and Alaska and several other places to see family and friends or just to sightsee. Doris and Bud celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary with a small gathering of their family, May 13, 2010.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents Elmer & Avilla Ford, siblings Mary, Doreen & Wilbur Ford, mother in law Kay {Keagle} Pollock and sons Charles Daniel and Robert "Lee" Hoover.
Doris is survived by her husband Bud, four daughters Nita {Mike} Ferreira, Vickie Luther, Cheryl {Ray} Stanfill and Shirley {Horace} Wrather, two sons Gary Hoover & Donald {Marta} Keagle, 17 grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2011.
