She was born in Yakima, Washington on December 20, 1945 to George and Marjorie Lessy. Growing up in the Yakima Valley she liked to spend time with her good friends Linda, Janice and Paula. She graduated from Davis High School in 1964.
Dodie married her soulmate Richard C. Pollock at the Holy Redeemer Church in Yakima on Oct. 9, 1965. They had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
That lady loved boating with Wiley and Shirley Cawley and Rick in the San Juan Islands and Friday Harbor from time to time. She also enjoyed dancing, camping and being with family.
Dodie was a stay at home mom for a number of years. After raising their three children she began working at Rosauers until it closed in 1992. She was also employed at Snyders Market, Walmart and retired working at Cascade Licensing.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rick, three children Debbie (Morrie) Peacock, Dina Porter and Charlee (Jon) Logston and her five grandchildren Brett (22), Bryce (15), Paige (20), Hannah (17) and Ricky (15).
Dodie never had an unkind word for anyone. She had a way of brightening up a room with her laughter and beautiful smile. She made everyone who met her feel like they were part of the family. She will be loved and especially missed by all that knew her.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dodie’s care providers at DaVita, in Union Gap and Cottage in the Meadow in Yakima. Your kindness and compassion to our family and Dodie is beyond measure.
