

He was raised and educated in Yellville, Arkansas. Earnest was very proud to have served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Following his military service, he attended Central Bible Institute in Springfield, Missouri for a time before coming to the Yakima Valley in 1949. To prepare him for the successful operation of his future barbershop, he attended and graduated from the Yakima Business College.
He worked & owned for over 60 years the barber shop at the Viking Village in Selah. Earnest enjoyed his many customers and the conversations they shared over the years. He was a member of the Central Assembly of God, a board member with the Calvary Mission and gave of his time to the Union Gospel Mission. Earnest will be remembered for his passion for doing God’s work and quiet, easy going manner.
He is survived by adopted sons David Jones and Donald Jones. Earnest was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Senia Jones, first wife Norma, second wife Marie and siblings Eardie Jones, Alice Jones, Mabel Jones, Mae Lavada Jones, Claude Ray Jones, Steve Jasper Jones, William Frederick Jones, Billy Fred Jones, Johnny William Jones, Troy Genie Jones, Ellie Jones, Pleasant Alfred Jones, and Everette Berl Jones.
Visitation will be from 2 pm to 6 pm, Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Keith & Keith Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, December 30th at Rainier Memorial Center.
Interment will follow the service at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
