Edward George Gates

Edward George Gates was born in Soap Lake, WA on February 12, 1950. He passed away in Yakima, WA on April 17, 2011. He was 61 years old.

Ed worked as a Food Processing Supervisor at Columbia Foods in Quincy, WA for 20 years. He earned his Associates Degree in Power plant and Airframe at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, WA. He worked to get his pilot's license and loved to fly his Ultra-Lite airplane.

He married DeLaine K Johnson on August 29, 1983 in Ephrata, WA. They spent much of their lives living there, raising their children.

He is survived by his wife, DeLaine, his children, Mandy, Rachel and Jason, and his grandson, Maxwell. He follows his father, Edward, his mother, Ruth, his father-in-law, Bart, and his niece, Christina into the afterlife. Also grieving are his sisters Linda and Jeannie, and their families.

The Gates family would like to thank the staff at Yakima Regional Hospital for their help in caring for him.
