Errol was born in Kingston, Jamaica on January 30, 1947 to Adolphus and Ivy Derby. He was one of ten children. He passed away peacefully on June 18, 2018 in Yakima, Washington, surrounded by his wife and children.
Errol enjoyed family time! He loved when his wife, children and grandchildren were surrounding him at our countless family get togethers. He loved reminiscing about his days as a youth and his family life in Jamaica. Jamaica the land he loved! He loved it so much, you would think he never left because everyday he had a story to tell and he told them with animation and charisma!
Errol attended Morning Star church, currently Together Church, for many years. He was a jokester at heart to everyone he knew but especially towards his children and grandchildren. He loved humming along as his wife sang, taking walks and his TV shows.
Errol is survived by his wife Hyacinth of 47 years of marriage and seven children, Dawn Kerr, Dwight Derby (Lorena), David Derby (Holly), Deborah Saffo, Doreen Howard-Derby, Denver Derby, and Deyion Lizotte (Tommy). He is also survived by four brothers and three sisters, 18 grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Errol is preceded in death by his parents and by his siblings Howard Derby and Pearl Derby.
The viewing will be on June 22, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. and service will be on June 23, 2018 at 11 AM at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 W. Yakima Avenue, Yakima, WA 98902.
