Vangie, as she was known to family and friends, passed peacefully on November 20, 2022, at age 81 in Cheney, WA.
She grew up in Lewiston, ID and attended the University of Idaho where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She was a Lifetime member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. There she met David Sewright and they were married for 26 years until his passing in 1989.
She was a long-time resident in Yakima, WA where she worked at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, enjoyed life, and made many friends. She was an avid quilter, loved doing crafts with her Grandchildren, and enjoyed a good game of Bridge & Cribbage.
She is preceded in death by her Husband: David R Sewright, her parents: Howard & Alberta (Lou) Gibbs & her Sister Linda Wyatt.
She is survived by her brother: Kenneth (Miriam) Gibbs, Her children: Clinton (Melissa) Sewright, Luann (John) Alamos, her Grandchildren: Courtney Sewright, Ashley Alamos & Kyle Sewright, her Nieces: Jane, Patricia, Danielle & Allison, and many great nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Vangie will be held Friday, December 2, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home, 1010 West Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902. A graveside service will occur Saturday, December 3, 2022 from at 10:00 AM at West Hills Memorial Park, 11800 Douglas Rd., Yakima, WA 98908. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home, 1010 West Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902.
