

Evelyn is survived by her children Kate Moore of San Jose, CA; Dara and (Nikki) Moore of Hayward, CA; Evan Moore of Kennewick, WA; Kyra Moore of Richland, WA; and her grandson Adam Moore of Pasco; two brothers Steven and Marjorie Garner of Alameda, CA; and Glenn Garner of Lynnwood, WA. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Evelyn was born June 17, 1930 to Rev. Percy Glenn and Harriet Isabel Garner in Portland, Oregon. Her father and mother ministered in a church in Portland for about a year then the family moved to Idaho to minister at three different churches while adding three boys to the family. After time in Payette, Hailey and New Plymouth, Idaho, they moved on to Goldendale, WA where Evelyn came down with rheumatic fever. This is where she met Leo Moore. The family then moved to Okanogan. In 1947 she was chosen to be Apple Blossom Princess of Okanogan. She graduated from Okanogan High School in 1948 and went on to Whitworth College in Spokane, WA. In October 1950, she married Leo Dean Moore, starting out in Goldendale, WA.
Over the next five years the couple welcomed four children into their home and Evelyn set about teaching them about the love of God. With move to Colfax, WA and Gleed, WA, Evelyn began working out of the family home, sewing for others. After the family moved to Grandview, WA, Evelyn worked for Stretch & Sew in Prosser, WA as a sales clerk and teacher. Upon moving to San Jose, CA in 1977, Evelyn worked in alterations for Marglads Bridal Salon, Saks Fifth Avenue in Palo Alto, CA and retired from Nieman Marcus in Palo Alto, CA. Settling in her retirement home, Sun Tower, Yakima, WA, she continued to do alterations part-time for The Bon Marche and for people in her community until she moved to Richland, WA.
Evelyn was an active and dedicated member of all the churches she attended, singing in choirs and teaching children in Sunday School. She was a generous and dedicated individual who loved God and was passionate about learning more about Him and His great love.
Evelyn loved to sew, do jigsaw puzzles, sudoku, word search puzzles and to read. She loved being with her family, especially her children.
Her children remember her as a kind, gentle, patient, loving, and praying mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
