Evelyn was born in Billings, MT to Henry and Marie Klockhammer. She was the second of eight children who spent her early childhood at St. Ignatius Indian school, which began her love of all things Native American.
At nineteen, she married William J. Rennie of Naches, with whom she had two children, Sandra and John. She was a committed homemaker, worked full time as an apple packer at Snokist, and still kept a perfect house. She was the leader of her family, doing it all while making it look easy.
Her loves in life were knitting/crocheting, polka music, antiques shopping, sewing, road trips, spicy foods, eating out and her amazing relationship with her granddaughter Cecelia. The family knew her as “Ma” and “Gram” and could always count on her. Piercing her ears for the first time in her seventies was one of her proudest moments, often wearing a new pair daily. Even in her eighties, an all day trip to Seattle/Pike place Market was no problem.
She is preceded in death by her husband William J. Rennie Sr, daughter Sandra Reeder, parents Henry and Marie Klockhammer, sister Rosemary Gazay, and brothers James and Robert Klockhammer. She is survived by her son William J. Rennie Jr., granddaughter Michele Reeder(Lesa), great Granddaughter Cecelia Sedano, great great granddaughter Isabella Columbia, sisters Helen Schmidt, Glendora Watkins, Janice(Joel) McCracken, and Linda Hoofnagle.
The family would like to thank Yakima Memorial Hospital ER staff and Lower Valley Memorial Hospice.
