

Originally from Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, she was born on March 26, 1921. As a child, she along with her family, moved from Red Lake Falls to Chicago after her father lost his Hardware Store during the Depression.
There she met her husband Wilson Cousineau. They were married on July 3, in 1941, and had a long marriage of 65 years, raising five daughters.
Together they pioneered the first pizza restaurant in Yakima. It started as a Pizza Pete franchise. Once the business was established the restaurant was renamed to Mr. C’s with continued success until it was sold in 1985.
Florence was a pioneer in the 1970s in regards to recycling before it became an environmental concern. Also she was an exercise fanatic; walking, swimming, bike riding and keeping up with the Jane Fonda regiment.
Florence was a strong believer and attended the Catholic Church through-out her life, serving the church as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteering for various causes. She was a member of the YLI.
Her humor, talents, and enthusiasm will be remembered fondly by her five daughters and their spouses, Donna Cousineau, Gail and Pat McKenzie, Alane and Rick deVila, Liane and Phil Koester, and Renee and Rich Peck; as well as 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Today, Friday, October 11, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
