Frances Marie Ambrose MacKintosh, 93, died July 15, 2015 in Yakima. Frances was born in Yakima on March 1, 1922 to Emery (Jack) and Veva Ambrose. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Roderick. Frances graduated from North Yakima (A.C. Davis) High School and attended the University of Washington until she married Rod in 1942. They made their lifelong home in Yakima, where he ran MacKintosh Veterinary Clinic, and she ran their lives.
Both were members of the Yakima Ski Club, and Frances skied into her 70s. She also enjoyed playing golf. She loved playing bridge with her friends and played until there was no one left to make up a foursome. Her knitting kept the whole family warm, and her needlepoint decorated the home as well as St. Michael's Episcopal Church, where she served on the Altar Guild and managed the altar flowers bequests.
Frances devoted herself to her family and her home.
She is survived by her daughter Mary MacKintosh Plyler, and son Peter (Kathryn) MacKintosh, and grandchildren Emily (Tyler) Tachell, Mary (Darren) Finstad, Caitlin MacKintosh, and Jamie (Chris) Teteak. There are four great grandchildren, so far.
The family would like to thank Miles Adult Family Homes for their skilled and tender care of Frances.
