Bud was married to Les's cousin, Doris.  We lived in Oregon and went to visit them.  Also fished with them   They came to visit in SD and had many memories visiting.  He was really a nice and pleasant guy.  He made me a trivet and I still use it.  So glad to have known him.  Les and Janice Polzen, Pipestone, MN


Grandpa’s smile lit up his entire face.  He accepted me as a granddaughter long before Ryan and I married. He would frequently call and check on us. They weren’t long conversations but they were meaningful because we knew we were in his thoughts.  In every conversation we had he would tell us how much he missed Grandma. While our hearts are heavy, he is now in his happy place. I am grateful for the time we had with him. Love you Grandpa!

Grandpas don’t get better than our grandpa.  He knew all of us, even down to the youngest great grandchild.  He always made each one of us feel cared about and loved.  He was always happy to see us.  He was proud of all our accomplishments.  He always had a smile to give us.  I will miss having Grandpa.  He’s been there my whole life.  I hope he is happy with Grandma somewhere.  I know he missed her dearly.  I picture them both in heaven rooting on all of us, the legacy they left behind.  Love you Grandpa, tell grandma we love her too! 

Bud, was my great grandpa. I have so many memories with him, my favorite one was when we were sitting on the couch, and of course he was holding my hand. 

When my nana (Nita) and I went to visit grandpa one day. we were sitting on the couch while my nana was in the kitchen. I was telling him how I was confused with softball and I didn’t know what to do when the ball was hit to me. Then grandpa grabbed the pen he always had sitting on his plastic table and other things that were close around him. He set them up as if they were four bases he showed me where I should throw the ball if it came to me. 

Grandpa, you were a wonderful man who made everyone feel loved. I miss you so much already. Can’t wait to see you again 💗

Budd was my great grandpa we have this thing we did every time we saw each other.  I would always tell him he was a cute old man and he would go on to say that he knew that and that I was beautiful.  I would look at him and ask if he was ever gonna date someone else and he always told me no and that great grandma was his first and last love. Throughout the many, many years of his life he would stop to put a smile on my face every time he saw me. He would help me through periods of being self conscious and always reminded me that I was beautiful in my own unique way. 

When I told Emma about grandpa's passing she said " I'm so sad mama" but then with a smile she said " He's with the love of his life again" even the littlest ones knew grandma and grandpa were meant to be always ❤

Grandpa great was nice.  I will miss him lots.

I will miss grandpa great so much.  He was nice.  Hes with grandma great now, I didn't know her but I wish I got to meet her.

As he got older my,  aunts, uncle, and parents took on responsibilities to make sure he was taking care of himself.  I remember one time we were sitting on the sofa and my aunts and mom were around the bar area separating his pills out and Vickie kept telling him “dad did you drink your orange juice” and he wouldn't answer and she kept telling him “you need to drink your orange juice, dad??”  I looked at him and said “you have 3 nagging wives grandpa” and he said “I know will you tell them that I’m still the boss of them because they will listen to you.”  He always made me laugh with his jokes.
He would always call me anytime someone was sick or had to go to the ER just to check and make sure we were OK now.  He always called us on our birthdays even if the kiddos were to small to talk.  One  year he called me and left me a Happy Birthday message in July?...He meant to call my cousin Steph.  So i texted her and said “call grandpa because he left me a voice-mail wishing you a happy birthday”, he must have pushed the wrong S number.  He would always call anytime the river would rise and start flooding just to make sure our house was good, I had to keep telling him “grandpa our house is on a hill the river would have to rise 55 feet to get to us.”  He knew he just wanted to make sure. 
I will miss the way he always used to greet all of us granddaughters with “hello good-looking” and say “I just love you granddaughter.”

Grandpa

It seems i am having a harder time with this loss then grandmas and I think its because I feel like I have lost her all over again along with him.  Since he is now gone, its like grandma is officially gone to.
I feel like we have lost the right and left side of our family and just the middle is left its weird to think about because I have always had a grandparent in my life.  I have always celebrated Christmas at Grandma & Grandpas and its sad to think my last one was last month.

I have so many memories with Grandpa so its hard to narrow down a few.  I remember when i was probably 10 and we were all up at Clear lake because grandma and grandpa were camping there and we were all hiking around the lake and I remember all the parents telling us kids to not run across the lake because it was too muddy ( the lake was drained by the way ).  Anyway us being dumb know it all  kids ran right through it.  I blame Brandon he was the oldest.  So here we are running towards or parents....here’s Brandon and Shane and Carly and....nope,  no Shantele.  I starting sinking in the mud, I though it was quick sand because I just kept sinking to where it was finally up to my rear,  as my wonderful family is standing on the bank of the lake laughing at me hysterically.  All expect my mom who was actually worried.  They finally came and pulled me out and I lost my shoes in the mud.  I was one of the only people to ever shower in grandma and grandpas trailer, the old trailer, remember I had no clothes so I got to wear grandpas shirt and slippers and grandmas socks and sweats.  All I got to do the rest of the day was sit at the campfire and hang out with my grandparents, which wasn’t bad at all because they were great to talk with.

I didn't come into the family under the best of circumstances but grandpa welcomed me with open arms.  He said do you love my granddaughter and I said yes and he said that's all I need.  He was always friendly and helpful and quickly made me feel like part of the family.  The last 4 years or so I have been getting into wood making and I had all these projects that he was so eager to help me with.  He always gave me ideas on what wood to use and the tools I would need and would always say bring it over and you can use my tools.  He will be greatly missed.

You were the best great grandpa a little girl like me could ever have had. You always knew how to make me smile or laugh. I enjoyed all the stories you told me about you and grandma, or just about how life was before I came along. You always had a story to tell, or gossip to share. Your hugs were the best. I'll miss your phone calls. I'll miss you saying, "Hey good lookin'!" every time I saw you. I'll miss how you held my hand whenever I sat next to you. I'll even miss how you used to tell me all the time that I need to find a man to "put a ring on that finger!" I will never forget the advice you gave me. The love that you and grandma have for each other inspires me to find that kind of love for myself with someone. I know not to settle for anything less, you guys taught me that. Although I will miss you immensely, I know that you're perfectly content with where you are now... with grandma. You both will always be "the greats". I love you. I miss you. For now, there will be a huge hole in my heart. You both took pieces of it when you left. Don't worry about it though, I'll get the pieces back when I see you guys again.

My Dad may not have been my biological Dad but he never made me feel that we didn’t share the same blood.  He was the best Dad a girl could have,   He was fun loving, never judging, and was always there  when you needed him no matter what.  I am sure he never steered me wrong, ever.  

I love you so much Dad it hurts my heart you are gone, 

I will always remember you I love you so much. I remember the time that we played hide and seek and you knew where I was because I hide in the same place every time. I love you so much and I will always love you so much.  I remember when I broke the ornament I felt so bad.  I love you so much. I will always love you and thank you for everything. 

Grandpa, I wasn't born into your family but you made me feel like I was since day one. Both you and grandma welcomed me into your arms and made me feel at home, at peace. All the hugs, sharing the couch with you, holding hands, telling stories, lunch breaks or just because stopping by to say hi (and to pee)... The quick phone calls "granddaughter, I'm checking in to make sure you are doing okay." Hearing just the words "granddaughter" made me feel welcomed. Thank you for being there for me for the last 14 years. Thank you for opening your huge heart and arms to both me and my baby girl since the beginning. Thank you for being you! I love you, always will. Miss you!

Grandpa Keagle was such a generous soul and visiting him was so enjoyable.  Sure he repeated his stories and sure he couldn't hear every word I said, but he would always hold my hand and tell me how glad he was to see me.  And that just filled my heart with such joy.

He meant the world to me, to all of us and I will always remember how he made me feel beautiful, intelligent and welcomed.  He always wanted to hear about my adventures and he supported me for every single one.

So thank you Grandpa for all that you are and all that you've done.  You taught me unconditional love and I will forever miss you, your kind words, and your loving hugs.

Grandpa,

I’m not even sure where to start, my earliest memories of you include often going to visit you and grandma with my mom, and also the large family gatherings in your home for the holidays. I remember going camping and you always telling me about how you and grandma were unable to keep up with me because I would never sit still as a young boy.

I always loved riding in the car with you through town while you would point out the many different places that you helped build and the stories behind them. I loved to hear the stories you would tell me about working in a service station years ago, or about the time when you worked on a ranch out west of town. And the stories of working on Central Washington University. 

I truly appreciated what a craftsman that you were and the many different things you would make. The things you made were made with love and made to last. You always showed me how to make things to the best that they could be, because there was no point in doing it twice. 

You have always been there for me if I ever needed anything. And you always called to see how my family and I were doing. 

I'm proud that my children got to know and be around such an amazing man. You will always be remembered as an amazing grandfather to me, you were always someone I could look up to. You were a wonderful mentor and I will always remember things you have shown or taught me, and the advice you would give.
 
Everyone that you met you welcomed like family; this is a trait I wish everyone could do. I will always remember your big grandpa hugs that everyone would receive before leaving your home.

I know grandma is now in your arms and you are right where you want to be. Please give hugs to all of our family members that have passed, especially my Dad. 

It saddens me to know that you are really gone, you will be missed greatly, but you will always be a part of me and everyone else that knew you.

Bud, was my great grandpa. I have so many memories with him, most recent we were sitting on the couch together on Christmas Day, and like always he was holding my hand. 

When everyone first had gotten there, my aunt & nana asked all of us to ask grandpa a question. He answered every single one to the best of his ability. After that was all over I asked him if I could sit next to him on the couch. He grabbed my hand and told me I could, as long as I didn’t ask him any questions. He always found a way to make you smile, laugh, and brighten your day, words will never tell how thankful I am that he was my grandpa. I love you always - your great granddaughter trinity 💗

Well what can I say about a man that hasn't already been said. He was a Kind, Gentle, Caring, Generous Soul. I had the pleasure of marrying his  granddaughter Mendy. We bought our 1st home 20 years ago and he was right there helping us in every way he could. He was a smart man with many gifts. Bud and Doris always popped in to our deli at Super D Bingo to have lunch! They loved our German sausage dogs with Saurkraut lol....They are together now once again!

18 years ago I blessed  to meet Shane, and with that I was blessed to meet the amazing family that soon became a part of my life forever.

 I can call him “Bud” but to me he was another grandpa.  I was a granddaughter just like that no questions asked. I had a loving, caring man who had a heart of gold that I got to share in calling grandpa something I didn’t have since I was 12. 

Grandpa was always calling and checking on us or to just see how much snow we had.  So thankful that we recently shared time sitting on the couch just holding hands while we watched the girls decorate his tree and laugh. Times like this I will never forget. 

Thank you for being part of my life! 


I already miss my Grandpa. 
I could talk about all the things he has taught me and the times we have shared but I don’t have that much room. 
So when going to the funeral I grabbed a coat and notice when I put it on I had left something in the inside pocket. I pulled it out to see what I had left and it was my Grandmother’s memorial service card. 

In a weird way it was like my Grandmother telling me she has him now. 

I know He is where he has wanted to be in her arms.

Mostly thank you for letting me hang out with you the last couple of years. It went from bad to worse, good to bad and we laughed together all the way through all the poking, prodding, endless doctor appointments and diagnosis. During this time I learned to budget better than ever because I wanted to be with you until the very  end. I’m sad, so sad, but at the same time I’m so happy that you’re with mom again. 

I’ll miss you forever.  I love you dad.



Budd is my father and the first good man I have ever loved. It’s because of the man he is and the example he set That I am a better person.

At 61 years old, I’m still “daddy’s little girl.” And you know what? I love it. The bond we share is unlike any other connection in my life.

Dad, I love you for an infinite number of reasons. I feel so blessed to have you as my father, and I’m thankful for the wonderful life you have given me. I would like to celebrate you: a magnificent man, a loyal, loving husband, a devoted father, and a true friend. Please know that my list of gratitude is endless and continues to grow with each passing day.

Thank you for falling madly in love with Doris Jean Ford and marrying her when she already had four children.  You raised us all until Donny came along - and just like that we were 5.  We were all a family.  

Thank you for showing me that news headlines are not the norm; men can actually love women faithfully and unconditionally – for a lifetime.

Thank you for knowing you wanted to be a father.

Thank you for providing me with a never-ending sense of physical safety and emotional security, whenever I was with you or more importantly when I wasn’t. 

Thank you for constantly showering me with heartfelt hugs, kisses, and praise.

Thank you for teaching me the importance of keeping my car running properly.
Thank you for raising me to love NFL football, news, and for talking politics with me.

Thank you for being an overprotective father from the time I was an infant until present day. 

Thank you for knowing what to do when two year old me was screaming after a nap in the crib - you soothed me with applesauce. 

Thank you for taking care of me when I got all those bloody noses, Stepped on that rusty nail, had my tonsils out, teaching me to drive, Coming into to my room when you found out I was pregnant at 17 and have a genuine father to daughter talk. For being there during the darkest part of my life, cheering me on when I was in 

It’s 3 weeks today Budd, it still hurts and it still feels like I’m going to turn around and there you’ll be. This is so hard. I cleaned off your desk today, found a few bills to pay, and before you say “Daughter, will you do me a favor” I’ll say I’ve got this daddy. Oh man it’s so odd not to have you around. Whenever I think of you & mom and this house my tears flow. Don’t worry, I’ll get through this. I love you more 💕

Today we are celebrating the life that grandpa lived. When I found out that grandpa passed away my heart dropped, I was so sad that I hadn’t seen him for a long time, I focused on how much I didn’t want him to go but then someone told me that you shouldn’t focus on what didn’t happen but focus on the memories. I remember every time I’d go visit grandpa, he would always look at me and say that I am a beautiful young lady just like my mama, he’d always hold my hand and give me kisses on my lips, even though he couldn’t hear really well and sometimes he’d repeat himself we both would enjoy our conversations. We all miss grandpa and love him so much and love all the memories, and he loves all of us very much. 💕

We are all here today to celebrate the life of whom many loved. Grandpa Great always had a smile on his face. He was the sweetest and most loving grandpa anyone could ever ask for. I always remembered going over to his house and every time I walked in, his face would just light up. He would tell me how I was getting so old and beautiful. Every time  I was leaving his house, he would pull me close,  give me a hug and a kiss on my forehead and say “I love you”.  I may have not had as much time with grandpa as I may have wished, but I am so glad that I got any time with him at all. He always brightened my day. As we all may be very sad of our loss, we should be thankful to have even had the chance to call him dad, grandpa, or grandpa great because he truly was a great grandpa.  He will be forever in our hearts. 💕 I love you Grandpa Great and I will miss you sooo much!! -Jordyn

As a neighborhood kid of Buds son Don AKA Donny, Don was my 1st friend.  Growing up we played many board games and basketball countless hours and I admired Donnys parents as if they were my own. Bud was one of the nicest guys I've ever known. If all the people in the world had parents like that the world would be a better place. These were some my fondest memories in childhood,  His daughters babysat me and my siblings growing up, Bud always had a smile and an open door to me all my childhood  and teen years in the neighborhood, 


I don’t know where to begin, I have a lifetime of memories of Dad and I, so guess I’ll share a few.   
When I was a very young girl he took me to a Father/Daughter Dance at Castlevale Elementary School in Selah, I heard him talk about it many times through the years, telling that story with that smile on his face.
We were camping and he was hunting, one morning he asked me if I wanted to go, we walked up Bethal Ridge, and I was so cold, my feet were the worst, he had know idea until years later.  Another time, I’m not really sure what we were doing, walking around a rocky pile somewhere and he had a gun.  That was the day he became my HERO.  We came across a snake and he stepped on it and then he shot it, I thought he was the bravest man in the world.  Then there was the time he let me shoot a rifle of his, he showed me how to do it and I took the rifle and when I pulled the trigger, it came back and hit me so hard, I dropped it.  Needless to say we both learned a lesson that day, but he wasn’t mad at me.
Then the best memory ever was when he walked me down the aisle or should I say held me up down the aisle.   He was the Dad he didn’t have to be, that day.  He had these little like business cards, not sure if he gave any out, they said, “I’m the father of the bride, nobody’s paying much attention to me but I’m sure they will tomorrow when they want their money.
We did a lot of woodworking together, the hope chests and the cradles were my idea, I found a pattern for both.  I wanted him to make a hope chest for Shantele and the cradle was for my grandchildren.  We put the little slats in one by one on the ends of the cradle, I helped as much as I could.  I designed my entertainment center and Dad cut it out and made it.  I helped him with some of the mirrors, as well.  There is probably still a shirt out there in his shop of mine.  I could go on and on.
Until we meet again Dad, I love you so much and I miss you.  But I know Mom and the boys are with you now.

I remember hunting with Bud, my father in law, now not then and letting him go first up the trail at Bethal Ridge when I was around 19 years old.  We were talking years later and he figured out why I always let him lead, it was because he got wet cause he went through the trees and knocked all the water off and I didn’t. Get wet.  I will miss that and many more things.

For over 55 years Bud has been teaching me, usually through example, what it takes and means to be a good man.  Bud, you were the epitome to which we should all aspire.  Thank you, dear friend, rest in peace.  With a heavy heart and much sorrow, my sincere condolences to the family.

Bud was a great man and he will be missed. My condolences to the family rest easy Bud!!

I will miss you tremendously.  I know you are with grandma now and you both are watching over all of us.  Thank you for being a huge part of my life.  Showing us all what love is each and every time we would have a family gathering. My grandfather, my hero the one I looked up to for advice. You were such a great inspiration and role model.

Fred and I worked with Bud many times with R&R construction.we are very saddened to hear about his passing.He was a very sweet and caring person.Also the hardest worker ever.May he rest in peace.



Bud was a great man and I will miss him greatly.  He treated me as one of his own.

He is survived by his daughters Nita (Mike) Ferreira, Vickie Luther, Cheryl (Ray) Stanfill, Shirley (Horace) Wrather and a son, Donald (Marta) Keagle; seventeen grandkids and countless great grand kids, his two sisters Sharon Braley and Judy (Mike) Bennett
