He attended Yakima High School. A few years after graduation, he decided to see the world, and joined the Navy. This is when he met his future wife, Gladys Keck, in San Diego, CA. They were married October 4, 1958. He went to many places while he served in the military. In 1959, he entered the Coast Guard. His last “port” was Governor’s Island in New York. He retired in Feb. of 1974 and moved west with the family.
While in the Yakima Valley, he worked at a number of jobs. He retired for the 2nd time from Brandt’s in Parker, WA. During his retirement, he helped his brother with the cattle and was available to anyone that needed advice on many mechanical problems.
Much of his enjoyment came from volunteering at McAllister Museum.
Jerry is survived by his wife Gladys of the home, his daughter Janeen Lounsbury (Shannon Amundson) of Yakima; son William Bryant (Monica Rodriguez-Lopez) of Yakima. Also surviving is brother David (Patsy) Bryant of Tacoma and Jim (Ruth) Wilson of Yakima. Other survivors include 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services with military honors will be held Thursday June 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at West Hills Memorial Park.
