Geraldine "Geri" Verna Breithaupt

Geraldine was born September 6, 1947, in Ellensburg, Washington to Ernest Raymond Green and Emma Green. They lived in Ephrata for awhile and she attended school there. She went to Beauty School and became a beautician for quite a few years. She cut many family members’ hair.

Geraldine lived with her parents in Kirkland until she got married. She married Gerald Breithaupt on April 3, 1987, and they lived in Idaho and Kent. They did not have children; however, Gerald had a few grandchildren that they spent time with. Gerald, her husband, died in Tacoma General Hospital on February 8, 2002. After Gerald died, Geri moved back to Yakima to be near her brother and sister-in-law. Geri was a caregiver in the Yakima area for many years and really enjoyed that.

After some unexpected health problems, God took her home to be with Him and the family members that went before her. She is survived by her nieces and nephews and their children and their grandchildren. She is survived by her one sister-in-law, Karen Nowak and her husband Walter Nowak of Olalla, Washington. She is also survived by her two stepdaughters, Cindy Hagen and Deanna Avalos and their families.

We want to say Thank You to the nurses and hospital staff who took care of Geri the past 4 months in Tacoma. We want to say Thank You to the Keith & Keith Funeral Home for doing an excellent job for helping us here say goodbye to our special Aunt. Geri is in heaven now and not suffering anymore. She is rejoicing with her family. She will be missed. We are grateful she had a personal relationship with the Lord, and we will see her in heaven.

Geri’s visitation will be held on March 9, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 West Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm.

A committal service will take place on March 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Terrace Heights Memorial Park, 3001 Terrace Heights Dr, Yakima, WA 98901.
