Harold M. Dobie passed away Friday, October 6, 2017, at Cottage in the Meadow. He was born in Yakima, WA, to Harold and Tonnie Dobie, January 6, 1943. He graduated from Naches High School and Washington State University. He was an orchardist for 48 years on the ranch his grandfather, John Dobie, homesteaded in the late 1800s.
Harold served for 3 years in the U.S. Army as part of the 101st Airborne Division, and spent some of that time in Vietnam. In 1968, he married Barbara Borck and together they raised 3 children: Dawn, John, and Chad.
Harold served on the Naches School Board for 20 years, volunteered on the Gleed Fire Department for 25 years, and was a member of the Naches Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed hunting and digging razor clams at Ocean Shores, WA. He also spent many hours helping with sports events while his children were in school.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children Dawn Slifka (Mark), John Dobie (Heidi), and Chad Dobie, along with 7 grandchildren. He loved his family, and he will be greatly missed.
At his request, no formal services are planned. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Cottage in the Meadow.
