Irma Alice (Hart) Smith

January 24, 1918July 24, 2020

Irma Hart Waddell Smith, age 102 ½, passed away on July 24, 2020. She was born in Cowiche, WA on Jan. 24, 1918 to Elmer and Cecile Hart. She taught school in various locations and lived in Yakima for 9 years before marrying Robert Smith in 1964. She taught at Mt. Stewart until 1980 when she retired.

A memorial service in Ellensburg will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 600 Ruby Street, Ellensburg, WA 98926.

My 2019 Birthday was so SPECIAL we all got dressed up went to a fancy restaurant to celebrate.. It was the last time she was able to "GO PARTY" Jerry joked with her about going out and dancing all night at her age of 101.

So Many MEMORIES of My Grandmother I hold them very dear to my Heart. It was a True Blessing that I had her for 55 years.
THANK YOU MOM for all the love and taking care of my Grandma for the last 8 years The MEMORIES, the I LOVE YOU GRANDMA KISSES AND BIG HUGS I got on a Dailey basis for the past 8 years will be the best Memories of the LOVE FROM MY GRANDMA until the end of 102.5 yrs of her life.

Irma was a co-worker, friend and neighbor. We always enjoyed the stories she told about her early teaching days. Irma was very close to her family and these relationships were so evident. Irma was truly a blessing!
