Jack was born on April 6, 1940 in Saranac Lake, NY.
Jack proudly served his country through the United States Army. Included in his service were 5 full years overseas in Panama as well as 2 tours of Vietnam. Upon his promotion to Staff Sergeant, Jack was responsible for a platoon of 13 men.
Jack’s final duty assignment was in Buffalo, MN. Before being honorably discharged, Staff Sergeant Case received dozens of awards, ribbons and medals including the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and 2 sharpshooter badges.
Jack entered the retired reserve after his honorable discharge and continued service at Fort Lewis for 10 years to complete a total of 23 years, 11 months, 10 days and 8 hours in the US Army.
In 2007, Jack became an ordained minister. He was also a chaplain for the local VFW, a life member of the VFW # 379 and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans – Yakima Valley # 8.
Jack married Nancy on May 7, 2011. He loved her passionately and never left her side. Jack loved his friends, church and those he considered family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 1:00 pm at The Salvation Army Church at 310 North 16th Avenue, Yakima, WA with full military honors. Burial will be immediately following at West Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the US Veterans Affairs Department at 2119 West Lincoln Avenue, Yakima, WA in honor of Staff Sergeant Jack Case.
