Jim met Fay Ferguson in California, and they married in Long Beach in March 1966. Following the Navy Jim went to broadcast school which led to his move to Seattle. Jim took a job doing TV sports in Yakima, WA and he fell in love with the area. Jim moved from TV to Radio. He enjoyed playing cowboy with the Wenas Saddle Club and Honky Tonking on Saturday nights at the Wagon Wheel, always up for the new adventure. Jim & Fay opened the Cosmic Cowboy in Selah and sold Western wear for 5 years.
Then came a son Travis and in 1979, they purchased an old farmhouse in Moxee and Jim began transforming their pasture into a park. Following retirement, the work on the park became his job and its evolution was a constant interest and amusement to his neighbors and passersby.
