YAKIMA·James Graden Burrow, (Jim or Jr. to most) was bom to Graden & Lena Mae Burrow (Pendleton) on 07/27/1936 in Yellville, Arkansas and departed this world on 01/11/2012 at Yakima Memorial Hospital.
Married & lived in Selah for over 40 years with his wife Julia (Judy)Ann Burrow (Ball) who
was the love of his life. He was her constant no matter the circumstance & this last 4 years being the true meaning of what in sickness & health truly meant in vows with her dementia. They remained highly attached to one another and this leaves
a great void in her life undescribable. At his approval for them to see each other 3 days prior to passing as they both knew not the true seriousness of his condition, he cupped her face in his hands and said "I love you" & "you're perfect" to which she replied "I love you too, you're my husband" and "you'll be going home soon."
Jim retired after owning The Boulevard Barber Shop at 1912 Fruitvale Blvd. for more than 35 years clipping hairs & just enjoying conversation. He enjoyed fishing and had dear friends to spend many an hour out on the water. Oh, it was, about beating the other to the biggest fish (or fish story) for sure, but it was moreso just about being together to enjoy life & God's goodness. Those memories were relived often as he shared in laughter with each other & family. They will continue ... Gardening & yard tending is what he took in the fullest of utmost joy in being "just right" as tasks set out the beginning of the day to being all done that same day. As soon as weather was even barely tolerable, he was outside ... He & Judy became great porch-sitters on the front porch to watch people go by to give or catch a wave ... Occasionally, he would pick up his old steel Dobra or newer Fender and start picking out an old song or hymn. Bringing joy to all who were in the house at the time.
Survived by his wife, Judy Burrow of Selah, mother Lena Mae Burrow (Pendleton)of Yakima, son Daniel (Jean) Burrow of Yakima, daughter Jerri Jo (Paul) Clark of Yakima, sister Linda (Dave) Jacobs of Terrace Heights, sister Carol (Cecil) Rose of Tulsa, OK, brother J.F. (Bonnie) Burrow of Arkansas; grandchildren Aleassa (Burrow) (Adam) Jarvis of Ohio, James (Jena) Burrow & Phillip Burrow of MN, Benjamin Graden & Megan Elizabeth Clark of Yakima; greattgrandchildren Lily, Jackson & MarCus Jarvis of Ohio ... uncle Johnny Pendleton of Yakima, brother·in-Iaw Stanley Ball of CA as well as many other termed relatives.
Preceded in death by infant & son James Matthew Burrow, dad Graden Burrow, father & mother in-law Dan & Elizabeth Ragsdill, brother-in-law John Delbert Ball, niece, Teresa Lyn Sharpe, several uncles, aunts & dear family.
Born-again Christian & member of The Cross Church. A devout man of God who stuck to his conviction of what God's Word revealed to him as he studied each day in depth to allow to be the best example of what Jesus is like. He was a quiet man, but yet his life in love through Christ spoke volumes. He was so strong, yet so gentle & one whom so many were drawn to just for his sweet spirit & stabilfty. He will be so greatly missed by those who knew him just a little while or a long time. He was a tremendous rock for the family in setting example to doing things according to God's word......The short life of this 4th time with cancer was not the cause his death, but it was the toot that God used to allow being a testimony to those who otherwise would of never been met. He in just one breath simply yielded to the call of the Heavenly Father when He said "come home my child, come home"
The family would like to thank North Star Lodge staff & Drs.Cleary, Chenal, Ha & Davidson for their rapidness of wanting to take utmost care & having great concern that began on November 23,2011.
