James Murray Overacker

James "Jim" Overacker, 81, of Tieton, Washington passed away on Monday, August 6th 2012 surrounded by his family. James was born in Oglesby, Oklahoma on March 8th 1931 to Joseph G. and Dorothy L. (Dunn) Overacker.

On March 5, 1954, he married Phyllis Woolridge and together they had two sons, Mitchell and Michael and a daughter, Yvonne. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He loved gardening, camping, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

James is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Overacker of Tieton; his children, Mitchell and Michael Overacker both of Tieton and Yvonne Overacker of Sunnyside; grandchildren, Hailey Overacker (Bill Johns), Sean Galland (Holly), Christina Castro (Paul), Julie Vannontrick (Troy Vella), and James Gunter (Jennie); brothers, Roger Overacker of Toppenish, Louis (Betty) Overacker of Washougal, and Floyd (Janita) Overacker of Wapato; sister, Delores (Ted) Anderson of Battleground; several great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Shirley Watkins and Maxine Swift, and great grandson Sean Gunter.

A Celebration of Life will he held at a later date. Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
