Janet Harlene Snodgrass, 88, passed into the presence of Jesus on June 20, 2018, at Cottage in the Meadow. She was born on October 15, 1929 to Joseph Kaufman and Nelle James Kaufman, in Bostwick, Nebraska.
Janet had a great love of music and singing, including as a member of a children’s quartet in Nebraska, and later in life, as a member of the choir at Stone Church.
She married Byron G. Snodgrass on November 15, 1947 in Hayward, California. They were married for 57 years when Byron passed in 2005, and had raised three children together, sons Eric and Jeffry and daughter Jo.

Never shy about expressing an opinion, Janet wrote many letters to the editor for the local paper and voiced them on local call-in radio programs as well.
Janet was preceded in death by her mother, Nelle James Kaufman, her husband Byron Snodgrass, sisters Wilda Kyte, Ruth Gabrielson, and Marjory Harris, and brothers Joseph Kaufman and James Kaufman.
She is a woman of faith, who depended on Jesus Christ for strength, peace, and guidance, and was a member of Stone Church at her passing. She will be sorely missed as a fount of wisdom, wit, and faith.
She is survived by her sons Eric Snodgrass and wife Alvine, Jeffry Snodgrass and wife Grace, and daughter Jo Baughman and husband Don, eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
