Married James L. Smith March 17, 1963. Two daughters Denise Smith of Bellevue, WA and Ranee Andrews of Naches, WA married to Dan Andrews, three grandchildren Bailey, Camden and Blake Andrews. One younger brother Danny Mclaughlin, married to Gail. Many friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her parents, David and Alice Mclaughlin preceded her in death.
Janice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all she met. With a warm smile and a heart full of love. Janice loved life and loved to see others happy.
Janice loved her family; family came first. She had so much compassion and love for life. So much love and support for her daughters. Her grandchildren brought so much joy, love and pride to her life.
Over the years Janice was involved in a number of organizations including Naches Women’s Club, Tops and Naches Lions Club, MOPS, and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Yakima.
Janice loved to watch her grandkids play sports. Along with playing pinochle and bunko. Going for drives with Jim was another favorite past time. She enjoyed antiquing, quilting and scrapbooking. Along with going to professional sporting events and watching on TV.
Janice loved the holidays and decorated for all. Along with a love for the seasons. Over the last few weeks she was so excited to see everything starting to bloom for spring.
Janice spent the majority of her life in the Yakima Valley. Graduating from Grandview High School in 1960. She loved the Yakima area, the seasons, the fresh fruits and vegetables.
Jim and Janice owned several businesses in Naches, WA before their retirement. In Naches for over 30 years they were involved in and supporters of the community. Just a few years ago, they moved into Yakima, WA where they were truly enjoying their retirement.
Janice touched many over her lifetime. Sharing her love for life, compassion and support. As her brother said she never met a stranger, she embraced everyone. She is now in God’s garden enjoying the flowers and smiling love down on all of us.
We were truly blessed that she was our wife, mom, grandmother, sister and friend.
A Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 at Rainier Memorial Center. Burial will be at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
