Janice Lynn Breitgham

She graduated from Yakima (Davis) High School in 1952 and married her high school sweetheart Virgil Breitgham on November 1, 1953.

Janice worked as a secretary/bookkeeper at Yakima County Credit Service, Federal Old Line Insurance Co., and Nob Hill Water Company. She retired in 1982 after having brain surgery to remove a tumor. Over the past three years, Janice’s health slowly deteriorated, after losing her husband Virgil of 61 years. Even through her pain and suffering, she was more concerned about others than herself. If you hurt, she did.

Janice truly enjoyed reading books and going to the book store to trade them in for more. In her later years, she enjoyed listening to books on tape. Her other hobbies were crocheting blankets and collecting owls. She enjoyed camping and water skiing with friends and family. Janice enjoyed her family, especially visits from the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Janice is survived by her three children, Jeffrey Breitgham, Steven Breitgham and Julie (Russell) Kasbaum; grandchildren: Jamie (Dan) Rawson, Hollie Milburn, Lee (Cristina) Breitgham, Amanda Lawther and Allen Lawther; and great grandchildren: Michael Hare, Bryan Gentry, Jurnee Rawson, Robert Breitgham, Sophia Navarro, Mia Navarro Breitgham, Benjamin Navarro, Khole Milburn, and Jeffery Jenkins Jr. She is also survived by many special people who are considered family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Leota (Rossow) Van Tuyl, her brother Robert Van Tuyl and her husband Virgil Breitgham.

Good friends are hard to find, best friends harder. Janice had many, many best friends. Her joyful spirit and kind heart will be missed by all.

Viewing will be held at Keith & Keith Funeral Home on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Funeral service will be held at Keith Funeral Home on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Private interment will be at West Hills Memorial Park.
