John’s greatest love in life was the Lord. He was an ordained pastor and loved teaching and preaching the Bible.
John leaves behind his wife Sue Bean of Yakima, WA, three brothers and one sister: Dick Bean of Surprise, AZ, George Bean of Surprise, AZ, Dan Bean of Eleva, WI, and Carolyn Welch of Reardon, WA. He had two children and a stepson: Mike Bean of Boise, ID, Mary Thiss of Scottsdale, AZ, and George Clayton of Toppenish, WA; and five grandkids and three great grandkids.
His marriage to Sue in 1991 gained him two stepdaughters, Katrina Bahadar of Yakima, WA and Angelena Mangini of Livermore, CA, and three grandkids and three great grandkids.
He enlisted in the Air Force when he was 17 years old in 1950. He flew thirty-one missions over Korea in a B-29. He was honorably discharged in 1953. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, and the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
John had too many accomplishments to list them all. His last employment was as a bailiff at the Yakima County Courthouse from 2002 to 2010, until his health forced his retirement.
There will be a celebration of his life Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM (with potluck following) at the Open Heart Baptist Church, 2040 McGonagle Road in Selah, WA.
