

Yakima, Wash. – Jonita Good Luck, 45, of Yakima was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 13, 2024.
Jonita was born August 8th, 1978 in Billings, Montana to Marella Grey Bull and Larry Whiteman. Her Indian name was “Ihchihchiawiash” (Sacred Tobacco Woman) given to her by her late grandpa Ralph and she was a member and a Child of Greasy Mouth Clan. She spent her younger childhood in Lodge Grass, Montana, and then became the daughter of Monnie Bellrock and raised in the Yakima Valley in Washington State. She graduated from Davis High School where she played clarinet in the marching band and attended Heritage College in Yakima for a degree in education. Her favorite jobs included Top Foods and Gleed Orchard Manor. Her grandmother Pauline taught her the Love and Sacrifice of our Lord Jesus on the Cross.
Jonita was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She dedicated much of her life caring for others including her mother and grandmother when they needed her most. She enjoyed time with her family and friends, eating good food, watching movies and long drives. She had an incredible laugh and huge smile!
Jonita was preceded in death by her biological parents Marella Grey Bull and Larry Whiteman; her beloved grandmother who helped raise her, Pauline Saco, and Grandparents Irene and Ralph Good Luck; her great grandparents Ralph and Beatrice Saco; her brothers Everdean Good Luck Sr. and Darwin Left Hand; aunts Charlene, Veronica, Janice and Althea Good Luck; her uncles Tyrone, Darrell, and Michael Bravo, Marlon and Larry Black Eagle and Clayton Good Luck and George Appia.
Survivors include her husband Filiberto Alcala and their three beautiful children, Krystalena, Penelope and Cruz Alcala; her mother Monnie Bell Rock; sisters Nicolet Grey Bull, Stefania Appia, Brianna Persinger, Beatrice Black Eagle, Tanya and Renee Birdtail; Vaschelle and Jaime Chandler; Jennifer, Davonna and Zeldine Tartsah; brothers Eric Grey Bull, Tristan, Brandon and Nathan Good Luck, Josh and Jeremy Black Eagle, Leon, Shiloh, Cordell, Brandon and Solomon Bravo; in-laws Oliva and Randy Buttrey and brother-in-law Tony Ozuna and Chris Buttrey; and many adored nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles!
Many family and friends are mourning her loss across the region and in Montana. We have a large family and apologize to anyone we missed. We express our love and gratitude to all!
A viewing will be held at Keith and Keith Funeral Home at 902 W Yakima Ave, Yakima WA 98902 on Monday, March 18, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Keith and Keith to be officiated by Jonita’s dear and loved aunt, Pastor Veda Rodriguez. The reception will be held immediately after the burial at 3:30 PM at the Rainier Memorial Center next to Terrace Heights Cemetery on Terrace Heights Drive.
