Joseph was born in Seattle, WA to Florence LaBelle and Laurencio Razote. He was a registered tribal member of South Dakota Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate. He joined the Army Airborne March 1969; he received a National Defense Service Medal, parachute badge and expert M-14 and M-16. He was honorably discharged March 1975. He moved to Yakima with his family in 1968.
Joseph is survived by his wife Jane Razote together for 50 years; his four daughters, Norma (Devin) Razote of Tulalip, WA, Wendy (Noel) Razote of Bellingham, WA, Antoinette (Jose) Razote of Yakima, and Lisa (Cruz) Gonzales; six grandchildren, Anthony Morado, Joseph (Jenni) Pascua, Emeli (Antonio) Morado, Jace Gonzales, Jalen Prado, and Niko Gonzales; two great granddaughters, Isabella Pascua and Alana Esteban; eight siblings, Bob Matz, Faye Sanchez, Ramona Gosselin, Gloria Gonzalez, James Lopez, Tina Nguyen, Lisa Ovalles and Yolanda Ramirez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Angelina Razote, Anthony Razote, and Jesse Lopez.
He enjoyed playing golf every chance he got, he was very proud of his accomplishment to make three holes in one. On his spare time, he loved to take his grandchildren fishing and playing Xbox with them. Every year he would vacation in Birch Bay, WA going fishing, taking walks with his wife and spending time with his family.
His ashes will be spread in Lake Washington at a further date with his immediate family.
