Juanita Alvarado Urbina

Juanita Alvarado Urbina was called upon by our heavenly father on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 90 years of age. Juanita was born on May 16, 1921 in San Bernardino, CA to Sylvester and Antonia Alvarado. Juanita married Gregorio Urbina on April 28, 1946 in Durango, Mexico. In 1954 they moved to El Paso, TX and then in 1960 to Long Beach, CA where they would settle and raise their 5 children. In 1981 they moved to Yakima, WA where they would then spend the remainder of their years. Juanita was a loving woman with a very strong personality who loved to spend time in her flower garden, sewing, crocheting, traveling, listening to music and who could forget grandma's frijoles (beans).

Juanita is survived by her 5 children; Elvira Hubbard, Ignacio Urbina; Isabel Lucy Urbina; Gloria Valdez; and Rosalie Sanchez; 13 grandchildren; Rogelio Perez, Alfanso Perez, Michelle Urbina, Angel Gamet, Michael Urbina, Frankie Valdez, Mario Valdez, Erica Gonzales, Monolito Sanchez, Crystal Campos, Felix Sanchez and Leticia Sanchez; 28 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester & Antonia, her brothers Aurelio; Tomas and Refugio, her sister Margarita and beloved husband Gregorio Urbina.

There will be a visitation Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm with a Rosary starting at 6:30 pm at Langevin Mussetter Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home Wednesday at 10 am with burial following at Tahoma Cemetery.
