Judi Aguirre of Yakima, WA passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at home with her family by her side at the age of 78. She was born in Yakima, WA on November 22, 1938 to F. Walter and Helen Shields. Judi graduated from Moxee High School in 1957 and continues her friendships with her dear friends from her class.
On December 9, 1957, she married Nash Aguirre in Coeur d’Alene, ID. During their 59 years of marriage, she enjoyed traveling to Mexico, South Pacific, cruising to the Caribbean and Alaska, every year to Jamison Lake on opening day of fishing, camping, spending time at the beach, attending their children’s sporting events, taking their grandchildren to Disneyland, and spending time with their great grandchildren.
She had a good sense of humor to the very end. The nurse came in, wanted to check her sugar levels and asked what finger she would like. From under the covers, here comes her right hand and says here are five, then comes the left hand and says here are the other five. In her cute raspy voice, she says here are ten, take your pick.
In 1970, she became a member of Beta Sigma Phi and holds the highest degree of Torchbearer. Judi worked for Shield’s Printing for many years, and transferred to the graphic art department at Penny Press Publications as a typesetter.
Judi is survived by her loving husband Nash Aguirre, their three children Ed (Sylvia) Aguirre, Sandy (Dave) Heise and Mike Aguirre. Judi’s joy of her life was her three grandchildren Lindsey (Chris) Chandler, Derek Torkelson, Joey Aguirre and her three great grandchildren Gianna, Knox and Tegan; also her sister Diane (Jerry) Price. She also leaves behind special in-laws, nieces and nephews, dear friends and her sorority sisters.
Judi is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Frank.
