Judy Lynn McCabe

Passed away at home on November 25, 2025

She was a graduate of Washington State University with a Master’s degree in special education and a Bachelor’s degree in psychology.

She was a member of Phi Delta Kappa at Washington State University.

She served as the Program Director for Calcasieu Women’s Shelter in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where she touched the lives of many women and children.

She taught special education at a middle school in Pullman, WA, for many years with her dear Friend Anne Borgerson. She also taught GED classes in Pullman

She was married to Doug McCabe for 19 years.

She is survived by her mother, Geneva Young, of Selah Wa her sister, Janet Rickman, of Bonney Lake WA. Her Son Kris Melville, of Portland Oregon, her bonus daughter and caregiver, Ryanne Duckett, of Selah, WA her bonus sister, Connie DuBose, of De Ridder, Louisiana; Godson Aubrey DuBose III of De Ridder, Louisiana. Her long-time friend of over 50 years, Lori Gathro, of Yakima WA, her grandson, Brandon Melville, of Lake Charles, Louisiana her Aunt Virgie Schroeder of Huntington Beach, California

aunt Carol Little of Tieton WA. She leaves many nephews and two nieces and Many Cousins behind.

She was predeceased in death by Frank Young; Michael Young; her husband, Doug McCabe, Robert (Bobby ) Young. She is finally with her dear friend Ode Karsky. And Dave Thompson.

She will be laid to rest in the Wenas Cemetery next to her husband and Father at a later date.
