Some of my earliest memories are of my sister and I spending days at June and Orville's house. We would play with the hot wheels or dolls while the fire warmed the cinnamon roll dough. June was like a grandmother to my sister and I. She taught us the incredible power of hospitality and love. The world is a better place because Junie was in it.

Your mother and father were model parents and Christians. They will be missed but their hearts live on in yours and all that knew them. Daniel Assink

I will miss you so much Aunt June!  I remember when you and I were working like eager beavers to help Mom & Dad pack up their house and move into their condo - you and I shared some great times and laughs going through all of the cupboards and closets packing up items.  Your sense of humor was just simply the best!!  I praise God and thank Him for giving you to us for all these years, and I know you are now enjoying your new heavenly home and everlasting presence with Him.

June was my Sunday school teacher when I first started attending EVRC - I was just 3 years old.  Her stories and lessons have stayed with me all these years and I can still remember the lyrics to the songs she taught us.  Those Sunday mornings were something I looked forward to all week.  It was in her class that I met my dearest friend Denise.  We shared many adventures and over the years I always treasured my visits to Denise's house.  June always made me feel welcome and at home.  I loved her rice crispy treats - they were so good.  Funny the things that stick with you.  Over the years I've had some wonderful opportunities to sit and visit with June - I will treasure those memories forever.  She had such an awesome outlook on life and always had so much spunk - she always made me smile.  Denise - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time.  Your momma will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

I am so sorry to hear the news of the loss of your Mother. She really had a gift for cooking and comfort for those around her and I will always remember that she made the best cinnamon rolls I have had and looked so forward to them when she would make them for our choir retreats at WPC.
