Born on November 15, 1943 in Ballard Washington, she was raised and educated. In 1971, the family relocated to Yakima where Karen and Jack raised their family. Karen lived a life marked by love, devotion, strength, and a deep love for those around her. Her unwavering faith in God was the foundation of her life. A devoted member of St. Paul’s Parish and Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, she found purpose and lifelong values to pass down and share with all she knew.
Karen’s happiest moments were shared with her husband Jack and her family. Whether gathering around the dinner table or hosting swimming pool parties, barbequing and soaking up the sun. She was proudly known to be our sun goddess, always sporting a beautiful tan. She also loved shopping, boating and travelling to adventurous places. Gardening was her specialty. Her green thumb brought beauty and life to her home that she lived in for 52 years. Karen also found happiness in caring for young children. She had a natural connection with all she knew. Nothing made her light up more than holding a newborn baby or laughing with little ones. Her love for them was deep and unconditional.
Karen brought joy and happiness wherever she went. Her faith, kindness, infectious laugh and genuine love will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind forever.
Karen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, Jack. Her children Lisa Youngblood (Gene), Chris Schuler (Sandy) and Tara Tillett (Kurt).
