Karmel Lee Morrier

Karmel was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, loyal friend, and faithful bingo player. She was known for her kind heart, spunky spirit, unwavering loyalty, and deep love for her family and friends. Her greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved, and she had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome, supported, and cared for.

Her compassion, generosity, steadfast loyalty, warmth, strength, selfless love, and incredible sense of humor brought joy to everyone around her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will be cherished forever.

Karmel was born at 8:50 p.m. on September 23, 1962, to Richard and Marjorie Klise at Standring Memorial Osteopathic Hospital in Seattle, Washington.

She spent her early childhood in Yakima, Washington, attending Stanton Elementary School, before her family moved to San Antonio, Texas, where she attended Howard Elementary School and Alamo Heights Middle School. When her family later relocated to Union Gap, Washington, she completed her middle school years at Union Gap Middle School before graduating from Eisenhower High School. She then attended Trend College, where she earned a degree in computer studies.

Throughout her life, Karmel found joy in life’s simple pleasures—gathering with family, watching NASCAR and cheering for the Seattle Seahawks with her husband while enjoying a beer at the ranch, sharing laughter with friends, and playing a good game of bingo. Her quick wit and infectious laugh could brighten any room. Her loving nature, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to those she cared about left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Above all, Karmel will be remembered for the love she gave so freely and the countless memories she created with those fortunate enough to call her family and friend.

In 2001, at a family barbecue, Bradford(Brad) first met Karmel. Later that same year, while working at Columbia Industries, Karmel reconnected with Bradford Morrier—the man who would become the love of her life. Their connection was immediate, and what began as a spark quickly grew into a deep, soulmate kind of love that many only dream of.

Over the years, they built a life together filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. After nearly a decade together, Karmel and Bradford were married in 2010. Karmel and Bradford shared a deep love for animals and were passionate about rescuing dogs, opening their hearts and home to many and giving them safe, loving lives as part of their family.

Bradford was Karmel’s greatest companion and best friend. Together they shared a love rooted in friendship, strengthened by loyalty, and filled with countless cherished memories.

Throughout her life, Karmel held many different jobs, including bartending, waitressing, truck driving, and working in shipping and receiving. Each role reflected her strong work ethic, determination, and willingness to take on new challenges. However, it was her final career that truly became her calling.

For more than a decade, Karmel dedicated herself to serving adults with special needs. She began as a Job Placement Specialist, helping individuals find meaningful employment, and later transitioned into housing and case management. She found tremendous purpose in supporting others, advocating for their needs, and helping them build better lives.

Karmel loved her work, cherished her coworkers, and, above all, cared deeply for her clients. She treated each person with kindness, dignity, and compassion, forming lasting relationships that reflected her generous heart and genuine desire to make a difference. The impact she had on the lives of those she served will continue to be felt for years to come.

Karmel was preceded in death by her father, Richard Klise; her mother, Marjorie Klise; and her son, Kyle Short.

She is survived by her husband, Bradford Morrier; her daughter, Kristina Parsons; her son, Chad Short; and her stepdaughter, Karlee Morrier. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jaycee Klise, Sydnee Parsons, Lenae Short, Janessa Short, and Jazmyn Short.

She is further survived by her siblings: her sister, Keeley (Jerry) McCray; her brothers, Richard Klise and Alan (Mandy) Klise; and her sister, Mary (Lonnie) Tomerlin. She is also lovingly remembered by her four nephews and six nieces, whom she loved dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 31, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home, 1010 West Yakima Avenue, Yakima, Washington 98902.
