Kathie was born in Yakima, May 18, 1953 to Lois and Michael Marx.
She married Warren K. Davis on March 24, 1984. Kathie attended Summitview Elementary School and
graduated from West Valley High School in 1972. She also attended Mr. Lee's Beauty School
and graduated in 1983.
One of her first jobs was at Roche Fruit sorting cherries with her mother beside her. Kathie was on the
People's Department store fashion board from 1971-1972, then worked in the Junior girls department
and the baby and young children's department. Later, she worked for Mervyns in the menswear
department. Kathie's children attended Wide Hollow Elementary School where she was a PTA volunteer,
served as president and received the Crystal Apple Award. Kathie volunteered for the Wide Hollow PTA
long after her boys had moved on to the middle school.
Some of her fondest memories were vacations to the beach with her parents and siblings. She loved the
beach and felt the most relaxed watching the waves roll in, listening to the seagulls, and walking in the
sand barefoot. She enjoyed memories of taking the boys to Disneyland their first time, going to
scrapbooking retreats with her girlfriends Lana and Faith, and her Father's 4th of July birthday party and
fireworks display. When Kathie was younger she loved taking trips to her Aunt and Uncle's farm in Zillah,
where she and her cousin Will would take long adventures, in younger years on horseback, and as they
grew older they would travel by truck or Jeep. During pea season they would play hide and seek with the
cars that would pass by. The people driving by had no idea they were part of the game.
During recent years she enjoyed time spent with her husband, sister- and brothers-in-law vacationing at
Whistler Mt. and trips to PA and the Seattle area to attend sports and theater events. She was always
putting the needs of others before her own, generous and empathetic to all those she met.
Kathie's granddaughter, "Little Miss Natalie", was born in 2008 and taking care of her was a wonderful
bonding experience for Kathie. She loved Natalie's energy, watching her learn and cling to new infor-
mation. "t love you to the moon and back. Watch those stars Natalie. / will twinkle at you every night. "
Kathie is survived by her husband, Warren Davis, of Yakima; her children, Jonathan Rule Libbey and his
wife Elizabeth, Ryan James Davis, and Derek Michael Davis; granddaughter, Natalie Paige Libbey; sister,
Christine Grove and her husband Ron, their two daughters and families; her brother Michael Marx and
his two boys; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
