Kathy Lynn Howe passed away peacefully from natural causes on Thursday, November 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Kathy was born in Prosser, Washington, on January 14, 1960, to Paul and Deanie Goodall.
In her younger years, growing up in Yakima, she participated in track, baseball, cheerleading, Campfire, Bluebirds, 4-H, and also made an appearance on Uncle Jimmy's Club House television show. Although, most of her time was spent running with her brothers and sisters through orchards her father managed.
At the age of 15, Kathy was introduced to Frank by her brother Billy. Not long after they met, they fell in love and decided to get married. However, due to the fact that they were only 16, they had to be accompanied by both their mothers to obtain their marriage license. After some bribery, Billy agreed to drive them to the hitching post in Idaho, so they could make it official. The two welcomed their first son, Tom, into the world in 1978, and their second son, Jason, four years later. Over the next 20 years, with Frank by her side, she loved playing softball, camping, girls' nights, hanging with her siblings and taking part in the annual bed races but largely her time was consumed by chasing her boys around on whatever court or field they were playing on.
Kathy spent the majority of her professional career at Crystal Linen before moving to a managerial position at K-Mart. After Frank fell ill and passed in 2002, she took an early retirement and moved to the Olympia area. While she was there, she enjoyed spending time at the beach, fishing, boating, crabbing, Harley rides and most of all donating to the casinos in the area.
After her grandchildren were born, her life took a full circle, and she returned to Yakima ready to cheer on the next generation and chase them around whatever court or field they were playing on. Her grandchildren were her world. Whether she was taking them bowling, to the arcade, playing at the park, feeding the ducks, or just getting ice cream, she truly just wanted to spend time with them. Those moments brought her so much joy. She took great pride in the accomplishments made by all of her grandchildren and she was especially proud when her oldest granddaughter graduated from WSU.
Kathy also enjoyed the annual Memorial/Labor Day Goodall family reunion weekends up at Packwood joining her family in karaoke, walking the flea market, and contributing to a whole lot of laughter. She always had a story to share and enjoyed making everyone laugh. She had a very competitive spirit and was always up for a game of foosball, shoes or darts.
Kathy built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. She was a loving and caring person, devoted to her grandchildren and her family.
Kathy is survived by her sons, Tom (Nikki), Jason (Danielle); grandchildren, Alyssa, Hailey, Gauge, Hunter, Ryder; mother, Deanie Goodall; sisters, Diane Copeland, Tina (Kurt) Fyhn; brothers, Billy, Joe, Curt Goodall; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband Frank Howe; father Paul Goodall.
Service to be held at Keith & Keith, 902 W. Yakima Ave, Yakima, Monday, November 24th at 11 a.m. Burial and Reception to follow.
