Kenneth D. Rupert, of Yakima, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. He was born in Yakima on December 1, 1932 to Bert and Elsie Rupert. Ken was raised and educated in Yakima before he enlisted in the Army in 1951. He served as a communications specialist and was stationed at Ft. Bliss, Texas. He rose to the rank of Sergeant.
In 1951 he married his high school sweetheart, Nina Page. He was a member of the Aero and Machinists Union for over 50 years. He worked at Weyerhauser, Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, and Irwin Research. After retirement he and Mom went back to work and managed Mabel Swan Manor for seven years.
Kenneth is survived by three daughters, Lora Rennie and Connie Adams of Yakima, and Ruth Nelson of Everett. He is also survived by two great sons-in-law, Tim Adams and Larry Nelson, and one dear daughter-in-law, Vicki Rupert of Oregon. Ken had seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nina, his brother Roger, and his only son Grant.
The family would like to thank all the staff of Cottage in the Meadow for their wonderful care of our Dad.
