

Lavina spent most of her childhood in Montana with her family. She grew up with six brothers and sisters; Fred, Elsie, Alma, Evelyn, Warren, and June. When she was ten, her family moved to the Yakima Valley. Here she attended St. Paul Cathedral Grade School, and St. Joseph Academy High School.
Lavina’s greatest passion was home decorating, and she had a great eye for design.
She was blessed with four children, Herb, Ken, Steve and Becki. Lavina was a wonderful mother, spending her time with them at their home in Terrace Heights for many years. When the children were grown Lavina went back to work in the area doing a variety of jobs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, as well as her youngest son Steve.
Lavina is survived by her sons Herb Slavin of Bay Center, WA, Ken (Sue) Slavin of Petersburg, AK, and Becki (Tom) Benoit of Yakima, WA. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and treasured friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Keith & Keith Funeral Home. A cryptside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at 10:00 a.m.
