Born in Caldwell, Idaho, to Lonnie and Iva Howell, Lavonne was the cherished middle child of five. Her early years were spent in Idaho before her family settled in Yakima, Washington, where she spent most of her life after moving there in junior high school.
At Davis High School, Lavonne excelled academically, and her intelligence and determination led her to graduate as valedictorian of her class. She remained deeply committed to education throughout her life, always emphasizing its importance and encouraging her family to value learning and knowledge for generations to come. In 1966, Lavonne married Wes Josey, and together they built a beautiful family with two children, a daughter named Lonni and a son named Dean. Family was the heart of her world, and she cherished every moment with them.
Lavonne shared a beautiful and joyful life with her close friends, traveling the world and embracing new experiences together. They enjoyed evenings at musical theatre performances, dinners shared in laughter, and the gift of simply being together. Her friendships brought her great joy and created memories that will be deeply treasured.
Following high school, Lavonne began her career in data entry and computer systems, laying the foundation for her lifelong dedication to her work. She was co-founder of her own business and later joined Zirkle Fruit, where she spent 25 years in payroll and operations. Her strong work ethic, precision, and reliability earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. She remained committed to her work until retiring at the age of 70.
Lavonne shared 45 years of love and marriage with her husband, Wes Josey, with whom she built a strong and devoted family. He preceded her in death, and while his passing left a lasting place in her heart, she carried his memory with her as she continued forward with strength and grace. In time, she found love again, embracing a new chapter in her life.
In 2017, she married Apolonio Villarreal, and together they enjoyed their retirement years filled with love and adventure. They loved time at the beach and the lake, road trips, and vacations to Hawaii. They truly enjoyed doing life together and making memories wherever they went.
Lavonne was an incredible mother and grandmother whose love and support were felt deeply throughout her entire family. She was encouraging, present, and deeply proud of each of her children and grandchildren. Her guidance, strength, and steady support helped shape and uplift the lives of those she loved through every stage of life.
Lavonne is survived by her husband, Apolonio; beloved daughter, Lonni Josey; daughter-in-law, Tanya Bryson; grandchildren, Domino Barajas (Faustino), Saysha DeJesus, Quianna Jackson (JaMichael), Jadyn Josey, Madison Bach (Austin); siblings, Linda Ford (Bill) and Larry Howell (Vickie); numerous nieces and nephews; and twelve great-grandchildren, each of whom was a source of immense pride and joy.
